A man drowned in the Kentucky River at Boonesboro State Park Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The man was pulled from the water and rushed to the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, where he later was pronounced dead, said Clark County Coroner Robert Gayheart.
Gayheart said the victim appeared to be Hispanic, but that no name was available Saturday afternoon. An investigation is continuing, the coroner said.
According to WLEX-TV, witnesses told state police the man was playing soccer at about 2:30 p.m. and entered the water to cool off.
