BEREA — The issue of a fairness ordinance probably won't come back before Berea City Council for another month or two, council member Truman Fields said after Tuesday's meeting.
Fields said the task force that held public forums on the matter wants to meet with city attorney J.T. Gilbert to put into writing some of its findings.
"We're in no big hurry," Fields said. "This is something that will last for a long time. We want to do it right... We're not exactly for sure what we're going to do."
Over the past couple of months, Berea has considered whether to draft an ordinance that would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in employment, housing and public accommodations.
