3 plead not guilty in Berea shooting

Three people entered not guilty pleas to various charges stemming from a fatal shooting in Berea last month.

The three defendents — Matthew Denholm, 27; Ryan Denholm, 30, and Ryan Denholm's girlfriend, Sherry Bratten, 30 — appeared Monday in Madison District Court. All three are charged in the Nov. 21 shooting death of Zack Flower.

Matthew Denholm, 27, is charged with murder. Ryan Denholm and Bratten is charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

The three were arrested in Louisville after the shooting, in which Kevin Price also was wounded.

According to officials, Matthew Denholm is a military veteran who had served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Flower, who was from Lynchburg, Va., was an Iraq veteran.
