A fire that damaged a Richmond home Friday appears to have been set, Kentucky State Police said in a release.
The Richmond state police post was notified of a residential burglar alarm shortly after noon Friday at 2081 Lancaster Road west of town. Trooper Ken Bradley responded to the house and found smoke and fire visible from the driveway.
The initial investigation revealed that several items were missing from the house and that the fire might have been intentionally set. An investigator smelled some type of fuel accelerant inside the house, said Trooper Paul Blanton, spokesman for the Richmond post.
