EKU raises tuition 2.95 percent

Undergraduate in-state tuition at Eastern Kentucky University will rise 2.95 percent under an increase approved Tuesday by the school's Board of Regents. The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education had capped the increase at 3 percent.

Tuition for Kentucky residents attending EKU full-time as undergraduates will now be $3,768 per semester. Tuition for graduate students with resident status will increase 3.41 percent, or $15 per credit hour.

Residence hall rates will go up 5 percent.

Tuition to Model Laboratory School will increase $500 per year, or 22 percent, for students in first through 12th grades. That increase is part of a long-range plan for Model to be sustained by tuition, fees and Madison County appropriations, according to an EKU news release.

There will be no across-the-board raises for faculty and staff at EKU in the coming year.
