The use of explosive destruction technology to destroy the mustard-agent-filled projectiles at Blue Grass Army Depot will be the subject of a special meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Madison County Joint Information Center, 558 South Keeneland Drive in Richmond.
Preliminary information has shown that exploding the mustard rounds inside steel vessels would pose less risk to workers than to disassemble the projectiles.
The meeting will include a formal presentation and an opportunity for questions. Hosts for the meeting are the Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens' Advisory Commission (CAC) and Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board (CDCAB).
The event is open to the public and is accessible to individuals with disabilities. For more information, contact the Blue Grass Chemical Stockpile Outreach Office at (859) 626-8944 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
