A man is dead following a Madison County traffic crash around 12 p.m. Tuesday, Kentucky State Police said.
The victim might have experienced some kind of medical emergency, which caused the wreck and possibly his death, said trooper Robert Purdy, public information officer with the Richmond state police post.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
According to Purdy, the victim was driving toward Berea on Ky. 21, Paint Lick Road, when his vehicle ran off the left side of the highway and collided with a culvert.

It appears that the man might have died of medical issues because his crash injuries did not seem to be life threatening, Purdy said.
The victim had a history of medical issues, he said.
An investigation into the wreck is continuing.
