An Irvine woman was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 75.
Patricia Hobson, 54, was thrown from a northbound 1995 Chevrolet van driven by William G. Brewer of Richmond. He lost control of the vehicle, which slid off the road, then ran up an embankment and overturned, according to a Kentucky State Police news release. The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. near mile marker 97 in Madison County near the Clays Ferry Bridge.
Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said Hobson died at the scene of blunt force trauma to the head. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Brewer was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
