Volunteers will be in boats cleaning up litter and trash Saturday along 12 miles of the Kentucky River that touch Fayette County.
The Kentucky River Clean Sweep starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at noon. It will start at the Clays Ferry boat dock on Old Richmond Road, under the Interstate 75 bridge.
From Lexington, follow Richmond Road to I-75 south and take exit 99 toward the Clays Ferry bridge. Turn right off the exit and travel slightly less than one mile. The River Sweep gathering spot will be on the right.
If traveling by GPS, use the address of Proud Mary, 9079 Old Richmond Road. The turn will be on the right just before 9079 Old Richmond Road.
