A man broke both legs when he crashed an ultralight aircraft near the Scott County Park on Monday.
The man, who was not identified, had just taken off from the park when the single-seat plane clipped an electrical line and crashed into a field just off Long Lick Road, said Scott County Deputy Sheriff Don Whitlock.
The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m., said Capt. Eddie Walker of the Scott County Fire Department. Walker said initial reports were that the plane crashed from about 40 feet up, but he said it appears that it was actually about 25 feet off the ground when the incident occurred.
The man, who is from Georgetown, was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for treatment.
