Police have identified a Georgetown man killed while walking on train tracks in Scott County as Robert Alexander.
Scott County coroner John Goble said Alexander was walking southbound on the tracks near downtown Georgetown at 5:15 p.m. Sunday when a train came up behind him. The train engineer sounded his emergency horn and attempted, but failed, to stop. Alexander, Goble said, apparently looked behind him at the train and continued to walk on the tracks. Goble said alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the death. Alexander, 43, was married with one child, he said.
