GEORGETOWN — Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying a man of Hispanic descent whose body was found Friday morning in North Elkhorn Creek in Scott County.
Scott County Sheriff Tony Hampton said authorities have found no missing persons report that could be linked to the man. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 502-863-7855.
An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday in Frankfort. Hampton said he hoped to have preliminary results Saturday afternoon.
Police said a fisherman in a small boat spotted the body about 11 a.m. Friday along North Elkhorn just off U.S. 460, about 3 miles west of Georgetown.

A Lexington fire department dive team pulled the body from the creek at about 4:40 p.m. Divers also searched for evidence in the creek.
Hampton declined comment on whether the man had obvious wounds or injuries; whether he had been bound; or his age. Hampton estimated that the man had been in the water about 24 hours.
