A Georgetown man reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries after fleeing from police on foot and colliding with an oncoming Kentucky State Police cruiser, state police said Monday.
Derek L. Whitlock, 35, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington by Scott County EMS.
Shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, state police attempted to serve multiple warrants on Whitlock. As KSP units pulled into the parking lot of Whitlock's apartment, he fled on foot, into the street, and collided with the oncoming cruiser.
In addition to charges for multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants, Whitlock is charged with fleeing and evading and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
State police were assisted at the scene by Georgetown police.
