Woodford crash victim in fair condition

A Lexington woman is in fair condition following a single-car crash that killed two other people in Woodford County Saturday night.

Courtney Cole, 23, was in fair condition Monday at University of Kentucky Hospital, a spokeswoman said.

Cole was a passenger in a 2001 Buick that lost control, struck a tree and burst into flames, Versailles police said.

The driver, Alexandra Coy, 20, of Lexington, and another passenger, William Alford "Billy" McDaniel III, 28, of Lawrenceburg, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at 11:55 p.m. Saturday on Dry Ridge Road south of Versailles.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, said Versailles police spokesman Pat Melton.
