Police and coroner's officials have not released the name of a bicyclist killed when he was hit by a car because they had not been able to locate his family Tuesday afternoon.
The wreck happened about 9:15 p.m. Monday at U.S. 421 (Leestown Road) and Coach Station Road in Midway.
Police said the bicyclist was riding in the westbound lane of U.S. 421 when a vehicle, also traveling west, hit him. The driver of the vehicle, who was not identified, is not facing charges. Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash, and the driver appeared to have been within the 55 mph speed limit.
There are no street lamps in the area, and the victim was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing, Versailles police Lt. Daniel Clark said. The bicycle "had standard reflectors," he said. "There was nothing extra."

The man was not wearing a helmet.
Coroner's officials and police do not know where the man lived. They were "looking for his family in China," Clark said.
