Food baskets for Christmas delivered

Volunteers gathered in the basement of Midway Christian Church on Dec. 16 and 17 to pack and deliver 37 food baskets for local families in need. Children at Northside Elementary School collected more than 1,000 pieces of food for this event, which reaches all ages from the elderly to infants, in and around Midway.

Families receive a box of canned and non-perishable items, a bag of fruit, beef from the Woodford County Food Pantry, a ham, and staples including flour and meal from the local Weisenberger Mill.
