Police search for gunmen after two men shot in two separate incidents

Lexington police are still looking for suspects in connection with two unrelated shootings in two days.

In the first incident, police were called about 1:15 a.m. Saturday about numerous gunshots on Booker Street, a small side street near Newtown Pike, said Lt. Paul Boyles. When police arrived at the scene, they found one man with a gunshot to the leg. Boyles said the man was taken to the hospital but the injury was non life-threatening.

The second call came to police at about 1:30 a.m. early Sunday morning. Boyles said that two subjects started fighting in a parking lot off Eastland Parkway when one man was shot. He also went to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Both incidents are still under investigation. Anyone with knowledge of either one is asked to call the Lexington Police Department at 258-3600.
