While looking through new Ford Fusions shipped from Mexico to a dealership in Ohio, workers found packages of marijuana worth $1 million stashed in the spare-tire wheel wells of the cars, according to media reports.
The marijuana, divided into 32-pound, half-moon-shaped packages, was found in 15 cars in four Ohio counties, according to CNN. The cars were built at a Ford plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, the news station reported.
The cars were transported to Ohio from Mexico by train, according to the Tribune Chronicle.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration are investigating the case, according to The Vindicator.
