An 18-year-old has been charged with murder after he admitted to fatally shooting a man in southeast Lexington and importing a significant amount of heroin, according to court records.
On Sept. 3, Jerome Wadsworth, 28, of Michigan, was found by a woman in a ditch near Eastridge Apartments off Alumni Drive, just inside Man o’ War Boulevard. He died at Saint Joseph East Hospital that same morning.
On Monday, Timothy Ganther Jr. of Lexington was arrested, according to the Fayette County jail.
Ganther and Wadsworth were acquaintances and had been in an argument, according to Lexington police Sgt. Jervis Middleton.
Ganther Jr. admitted to intentionally shooting the victim and importing more than 100 grams of heroin from Ohio to Kentucky with the intent to sell it, according to court documents.
