Man killed in Pulaski County when mower goes over cliff

A man died of blunt-force injuries after the lawn mower he was riding went over a 75- to 100-foot embankment in Pulaski County, an autopsy showed Thursday.

Jake Neikirk, 30, worked for a lawn service and was mowing a yard in the Waitsboro Hills community Wednesday when the accident occurred, said David Mase, office manager of the Pulaski County coroner's office.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning, and the preliminary cause of death was listed as blunt-force trauma, Mase said.

No one saw Neikirk go over the cliff, Mase said. A fellow employee of the lawn service found him and the lawn mower at the bottom of the cliff.
