Police find missing woman after searching Legacy Trail

A woman who went missing Wednesday night on Lexington's Legacy Trail near the Kentucky Horse Park was found safe about 7 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Betty Bett, 29, had gone for a run about 7 p.m. Wednesday, and she had not returned when her roommate got home from work about 3 a.m., according to a report by WKYT.

Police found Bett's maroon Toyota Camry at the beginning of the trail with her purse and phone inside, according to WKYT.

K-9 units were at the scene and police planned to use a helicopter, according to WKYT. Units were called off, though, when the woman made contact with police.
