A Kia Sorento crashed into the front of a Lexington business Monday afternoon, leaving some damage but no injuries.

Lexington Outdoor Power Equipment had some customers and employees inside when the SUV hit about 2:50 p.m., shattering the front window, Lexington fire Maj. Jason Wells said.

There was no structural damage to the building, and the business would not need to close once cleanup was complete and the window was boarded up, Wells said.

The woman was getting used to operating the vehicle's new controls made for drivers with disabilities, Wells said. She accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake while in a parking spot in front of the building. The driver's identity wasn't immediately available.

The driver was checked out but wasn't taken to a hospital, Wells said.
