Police: Drive-up coffee kiosk in Lexington robbed for third time

A Lexington drive-up coffee kiosk was robbed for the third time this year Thursday night.

A man went through the drive-through, held a gun on a clerk and demanded money at the Common Grounds on Hartland Parkway, Sgt. Ann Welch said.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark blue SUV toward Trent Boulevard, Welch said.

The coffee shop was also robbed on July 25 and Aug. 26 of this year, Welch said.

The robber is described as being "skinny" and in his mid-20s. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with his face covered, Welch said.
