The Dairy Mart on East Reynolds Road was robbed early Monday, and the robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Lexington police said.

A man with a gun approached the cashier and demanded money, Sgt. Ann Welch said.

The cashier complied and then the robber fled, Welch said. Police were called at 3:17 a.m.

The robber is described as 5-foot-6 with a thin build, Welch said. The cashier said he was wearing a pink cloth over the lower part of his face.

The man was seen getting into a dark car, Welch said.

Surveillance video was taken, but no one with access to the password was at the store at the time of the robbery, so police are waiting for footage, Welch said.
