An 11-year-old boy was hit by a sport-utility vehicle Friday morning while he was walking to school, Lexington police said.
He had minor injuries, Sgt. Ann Welch said. He told police he walked in the crosswalk but wasn't given clearance by the traffic light.
The woman in the SUV was turning from Hermitage Drive onto Bryan Station Road with a green light, Welch said. The boy was taken to the hospital with a cut to the knee.
Police do not expect any charges to be filed, Welch said.
