Public urged to attend Williamstown funeral of veteran stabbed to death in Lexington

The public is being urged to attend the funeral at noon Friday of a veteran who was stabbed and killed last week. He had no family, according to a news release from the Fayette County Coroner's Office.

The body of James "Doug" Holiness, 58, was found Oct. 14 near a shopping center at Nicholasville Road and Man o' War Boulevard, according to Lexington police.

The funeral will be at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North at 205 Eibeck Lane in Williamstown, according to the coroner's office.
