Two brothers-in-law exchanged gunfire, and one of them sustained multiple wounds in Laurel County Monday afternoon.
Earl and Shirley Fields and Shirley Fields' brother, James House, got into an argument at the Fieldses' house off Ky. 472 about nine miles east of London at 5 p.m., according to a news release from the Laurel County sheriff's office.
Earl Fields was shot multiple times during the exchange and was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington where he was in fair condition Tuesday morning. No information about his condition was available Monday night.
The sheriff's office is still investigating the circumstances of the shooting and plans to present the case to a Laurel County grand jury.
