Carter County man shot in face is released from hospital; father faces multiple charges

A 31-year-old Carter County man who was shot in the face last week, allegedly by his father, has been released from a hospital.

Frank Evans of Olive Hill had been listed early Tuesday in critical but stable condition early Tuesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, police said. Later Tuesday, a hospital official said Evans had been released.

His father, Doug Evans, 54, was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.

About 6 p.m. Friday, Doug Evans reported that his son had been shot, according to police. After troopers arrived, they accused Evans of shooting his son and arrested him.
