Berea man turns self in to face child porn, drug charges

A Berea man wanted on child pornography charges turned himself in Thursday.

Gerald Jones, 42, was indicted last week on 10 counts of possession of child pornography. He turned himself in at the Madison County jail in Richmond. He was being held there on a $20,000 cash bond.

Investigators said Jones received numerous images and videos of children engaged in various forms of sexually explicit conduct. He also was accused of being involved in an indoor marijuana-growing operation.

A Madison County grand jury indicted Jones on four counts of cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and being a persistent felony offender. The state attorney general's cybercrimes unit and the Berea police department are investigating.
