Police find suspected accomplice in fatal Lexington gas station robbery

Kentucky State Police found a man early Friday morning who they say was involved in a gas station robbery last week that left his accomplice dead.

Gary Isaacs, 54, was in Jackson County when state police and Jackson County sheriff's deputies pulled him from a car he was hiding in outside a home, police said. Police had received a tip that he was at the home.

Isaacs is suspected of being with Lavonna Dillon on July 9 when she held up the Shell Station on Newtown Pike in Lexington, took the clerk hostage and fired shots at two Lexington police officers, police said. Dillon, who was wounded at the scene died at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Isaacs was charged with robbery and was taken to the Jackson County jail.

Also arrested at the home where Isaacs was found was Terry Reed, who was charged with hindering arrest, cultivating marijuana and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
