Former Lexington firefighter charged with receiving child porn

A Lexington firefighter remained jailed Thursday on federal charges that he received child pornography.

FBI agents arrested Eric J. Bradley, 37, Wednesday at his Nicholasville Road home, according to the Nicholasville Police Department. He was taken to the Fayette County jail.

Bradley allegedly received sexually explicit images of minors from December 2007 to December 2008 in Fayette County, according to a criminal complaint filed July 28 in U.S. District Court.

He has been employed with the city since September 2000. Susan Straub, spokeswoman for Mayor Jim Newberry, said the city has not been notified about the case. But Bradley has resigned from his position.

Bradley is scheduled to appear in federal court for a detention hearing and preliminary examination at 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky. The attorney's office and the FBI declined to comment on the case.
