Lexington man indicted in sex-text case

A Lexington man has been indicted on charges that he used text messages to ask a 14-year-old girl for sex.

Nicholas Paquette was indicted Monday on two counts of unlawful use of electronic communications to induce a minor to engage in sexual activity, a Class D felony.

Lexington police say Paquette met the teenager in July at the pool of his apartment complex. Paquette allegedly sent more than 80 text messages to the girl, some with requests to have sex. Officers arrested Paquette on July 29.

Paquette is being held in the Fayette County jail. His arraignment is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Fayette Circuit Court.
