A doctor from Augusta was sentenced Monday to almost six years in prison for exchanging prescription drugs for money and sexual favors.
Dr. Milton Brindley, 66, pleaded guilty in July to a charge of conspiring to illegally distribute prescription drugs.
Brindly wrote prescriptions for oxycodone and other controlled substances in exchange received cash, jewelry, pornography and sexual favors, according to the U.S. Attorney's office. He received nearly $600,000 from 2003 to 2007.
Earlier this month, Brad Begley, 48, and his wife, Paula Begley, 42, both of Clay City, and Danny McClain, 36, of Irvine, pleaded guilty to conspiring with Brindley to distribute controlled substances. William Forbis, Renee Forbis, James Brooks and Nick Tipton had already pleaded guilty to the same offense.
