Not-guilty plea in robbery of a Lexington First Federal Bank branch

The case of an alleged bank robber who led police on a high-speed chase this month was waived to the grand jury Tuesday.

Daniel Vincent, 28, of Aurora, Ill., has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree robbery.

Police say Vincent robbed Lexington's First Federal Bank at 2452 Sir Barton Way at 11:27 a.m. Nov. 6.

When police tried to stop his Mercedes SUV on Interstate 75, he refused to stop, leading them through Scott County and into Bourbon and Harrison counties; the SUV crashed into a guardrail on U.S. 62, and Vincent was then arrested on foot, police said.

Vincent remained in the Fayette County Detention Center on Tuesday night.
