Lexington manslaughter case goes to grand jury

The case of a Lexington man charged with manslaughter was waived to the grand jury Thursday.

Kimiko Lavell Ogle, 29, was arrested Dec. 26 on a charge of second-degree manslaughter. Police said Ogle was driving the wrong way at Lane Allen and Harrodsburg roads a little after 9 p.m. Sept. 11 when his vehicle collided head-on with a Chevrolet. The driver of the Chevrolet, Brian D. Yanko, 49, died Sept. 16 from his injuries.

According to court records, Ogle's blood-alcohol level was .24; drivers with levels of .08 or higher are considered intoxicated.

Ogle has pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter charge.
