A man dressed as a woman robbed a Berea bank on Thursday, but part of the money was recovered after the man dropped some loot on the way to his getaway car, Berea police Capt. Ken Clark said.
Authorities are trying to determine whether the incident has any connection to two recent robberies at businesses in Danville and Richmond, which were also robbed by a man wearing women's clothing, Clark said.
The robber, brandishing a handgun, entered Cumberland Valley National Bank & Trust on Big Hill Road in Berea just before 1:30 p.m. and asked for money, Clark said.
Bank employees told police that the robber, a white man, was thin, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall. The man is believed to be in his 30s; he was wearing makeup, a dark brown wig, a hooded green coat with fur trim, a gray scarf, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
Berea police are asking that anyone with information about the robbery call them at (859) 986-8456.
