Police seize gambling devices, cash in Knox and Bell counties

Kentucky State Police, armed with search warrants, seized 49 illegal gambling devices and $62,277 in cash from several businesses in Knox and Bell counties on Thursday, according to state police at the Harlan post.

The effort to stop promotion of illegal gambling took officers to the Flat Lick BP, Creek Mart at Flat Lick, Spur No. 1 in Barbourville, Williams Stop and Go in Barbourville, Spur #2 at Bailey Switch and Heidrick One Stop, all in Knox County, and Exxon Friendly Mart in Pineville in Bell County.

Charges are pending, state police said.
