A Paris man charged with murder in the death of a man with whom his girlfriend was involved pleaded not guilty in Bourbon Circuit Court on Thursday.
Billy Martin, 43, was arrested Oct. 31 and charged in the slaying of Derek D. Stockton, 30, who was found dead in a bedroom of his home on Shannon Drive in Paris.
District Judge Mary Jane Phelps found probable cause to send the case to a grand jury in November, and the grand jury indicted Martin.
On Thursday, Martin pleaded not guilty to murder. He was scheduled to return to court at 9 a.m. March 11.
Martin and Stockton got into a fight in Stockton's front yard, police said. After Martin left, Stockton went inside and realized he'd been stabbed.
