Carter County deputy jailer indicted on sex charges

A deputy jailer and maintenance worker at the Carter County Detention Center in Grayson has been indicted in federal court on charges relating to sex acts with two inmates.

Keith D. Hollingsworth, 43, of Olive Hill, is accused of having sex with an inmate under his authority on Dec. 16, 2005, and of depriving another inmate of constitutional rights by engaging in sex acts on June 15, 2007.

The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky did not release the names of the inmates in question. The Herald-Leader does not generally identify people who allege sexual abuse.

It was unclear Thursday evening whether Hollingsworth still works at the jail. His arraignment was scheduled for March 18 in U.S. District court in Ashland. An attorney for Hollingsworth was not yet listed in court files.
