Police: Clay man killed after he threatened driver

A Manchester man was killed when he was hit by the car of a man he was threatening, Kentucky State Police said.

Reve Jones, 64, was one of five people trying to lure the driver out of his car about 8:30 p.m. Monday, police said. The driver's wife and children were in the car with him.

Jones and the four men allegedly had followed the family to Smith Road in Clay County in retaliation for an incident that had occurred Sunday, police said.

When the driver refused to get out of the car, the five men began damaging it. The driver then allegedly tried to flee, running Jones over. A police press release did not identify the driver of the car.

Jones was declared dead at the scene by the Clay County coroner. No charges have been filed, but the case will be presented to a Clay County grand jury, the release said.

State police in London were not available for comment.
