Tennessee man charged in 2005 murder in Knox

A Tennessee man was charged Tuesday in the 2005 murder of a Knox County man, Kentucky State Police said.

Leland Curtis Stephens, 30, of Huntsville, Tenn., was charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, second-degree arson, and abuse of a corpse, police said.

The charges stem from an investigation into the death of Kenneth Wilson, 56, who was found dead in his home in the Woolum community of Knox County.

Investigators determined that the home had been burned in an effort to conceal the crime. After an autopsy, the state medical examiner determined that Wilson's death was the result of a homicide.
