Lexington police are investigating a Thursday night fight that sent one man to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.
At 11:05 p.m., officers were called to 527 Bright Avenue between Georgetown Street and Newtown Pike to investigate a report of a disorder and a possible shooting victim.
When they arrived, they found the victim outside, and several other people with scrapes and bruises. None of the victims have been identified.
The man who had been shot was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital in stable condition, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. Another man drove himself to the hospital.
When officers approached the home at 527 Bright Street, several people fled through the back door.
Canine units tracked them to the Lincoln Terrace apartments on Michigan Avenue, Roberts said. Police arrested one man, Rogelio Alegria-Aguilar, 33, and charged him with two counts of assault. Aguilar is thought to have been involved in the fight, but he isn't suspected as the shooter, Roberts said.
Police have a suspect in the shooting but have not released his name or made any arrests, Roberts said.
Roberts said investigators think the fight was over a woman.
