A Lexington man accused of robbing the Subway on Waller Avenue with a hammer was indicted on a first-degree robbery charge Tuesday.
Police have said Corey Charles Gray, 32, ordered a sandwich on May 18, then pulled a hammer from his computer bag and demanded money from the cashier. The employee complied, and the robber fled with $275.07 and the sandwich, according to police reports.
Detectives went to Gray's address and saw he resembled the suspect in the surveillance video, and the Subway employee later identified Gray in a lineup as the man who robbed the restaurant, according to court documents.
