A Perry County man was charged with assault after he allegedly shot his son during an argument, Kentucky State Police said Friday.
The shooting in the community of Rowdy in Perry County was reported to police about 7:25 p.m. Thursday.
Mack Sizemore was arguing with his son Daniel Stidham, 25, who both live in the Rowdy community, when Stidham was shot once in the shoulder, state police said.
Troopers went to the scene and to Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital, where relatives had taken the victim.

Stidham was later transferred to University of Kentucky Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, state police said.
Sizemore was charged with first-degree assault. He was being held at the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Perry County. He was being held on $100,000 cash bond, jail officials said.
