Lexington man charged after three-county pursuit

A Lexington man faces several charges after leading police on a pursuit through three counties that ended with a wreck that injured a child.

Justin Falvey, 28, was arrested after the sport-utility vehicle he was driving crashed on U.S. 127 in Anderson County near the Bluegrass Parkway.

Danville Assistant Police Chief Tony Gray said the injured child was treated at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and released.

No other details were immediately available.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, police received a call about a possible drunken driver, Gray said. Danville police located the vehicle, but the driver did not stop. The vehicle headed north on U.S. 127 toward Harrodsburg, Gray said. Danville police discontinued the pursuit in Harrodsburg, but Boyle County sheriff's deputies continued the chase through Mercer County into Anderson County, Gray said.

Gray said Falvey had been in Danville for a custodial exchange with the child's mother, but the pursuit began before he dropped the child off.

Falvey was taken to the Boyle County jail. Charges against him include wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police, custodial interference, endangering the welfare of a minor and driving under the influence on a suspended license.
