Richmond man faces counterfeiting charges

RICHMOND — A man has been charged in connection with passing counterfeit money, Richmond police said.

Robert Devon Dunn, 26, was arrested Monday after an authorized search of his home on Porter Drive turned up counterfeit bills and paraphernalia allegedly used in the production of counterfeit currency.

On June 27, an employee of the Texaco gas station on Eastern Bypass reported that a counterfeit $5 bill was used at the business. The same day, a Burger King reported receiving counterfeit bills.

A video clip of a man paying with the counterfeit bill at the gas station was broadcast, and several people called police with an identification.

Dunn is charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and was taken to the Madison County jail. More charges are anticipated, police said.
