Richmond couple charged in theft of $10,000 watch

RICHMOND — A Richmond couple was charged Thursday in connection with the theft of a $10,250 Rolex watch from a Lexington home, police said.

Antoine J. Kidwell, 23, was charged with theft by unlawful taking of more than $10,000, and Renae Ferrell, 24, was charged with receiving stolen property more than $10,000. Richmond police said.

On June 29, Lexington police told Richmond police detectives that an 18-carat gold ladies' Rolex watch was stolen from a home in Lexington on June 17. Lexington police said Kidwell was a suspect in the theft, and that Ferrell allegedly had tried to sell the stolen watch to someone else in Richmond.

Investigators followed up on that information, and on July 7, Lexington police obtained an arrest warrant for Kidwell. Richmond police obtained an arrest warrant for Ferrell the same day.

On Thursday, Richmond detectives arrested the two at an apartment in the 1600 block of Foxhaven Drive and booked them in the Madison County jail.
