Competency hearing set for man accused in fatal stabbing

A competency hearing will be held Sept. 1 in Fayette Circuit Court for Roderick Blincoe, charged with murder in the death last year of Liese Carr, 53.

Blincoe, who is in his early 50s, is alleged to have stabbed Carr about eight times in her abdomen, neck and arms at her home at 714 Aurora Avenue on Sept. 12.

Carr, who died later that day, told a witness that Blincoe was her attacker, according to authorities. Blincoe is lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center. Fayette Circuit Judge Ernesto Scorsone set the competency hearing date Friday.
