Lexington police are asking for the public's help to find a man they say broke into a woman's home Monday night, assaulted her and stole her car.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 3000 block of Montavesta Road at 11:30 p.m.
The victim, who is in her 80s, told officers a man who appeared to be in his 20s broke in and assaulted her, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. The man dragged the woman by her hair, stole a small, undisclosed amount of money from her purse and took her car keys.
He drove off in her car, described only as a light-colored 2008 Subaru four-door sedan. Police did not release any other details about the assailant.
