University of Kentucky police issue campus alert after two robberies

A University of Kentucky campus alert has been issued after two robberies that occurred within minutes of each other.

Police said the same person might be responsible for both robberies — one at 447 Pennsylvania Avenue and the other at the intersection of Columbia Avenue and Oldham Court. One robbery occurred at 2:46 a.m. Tuesday, and the second occurred about a minute later.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5-foot-11. He was wearing a bandanna, and his hair was in cornrows. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with shorts and high white socks with black Chuck Taylor sneakers.

He was last seen going in the direction of the William T. Young Library.
